JAVA Developer

Salinas, California Area, US - Computer Software



Understands full Software Development Life Cycle and proficient in Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) application development skills.

Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design. Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions.

Responsible for working with the project team to develop and maintain the application.

Responsible for develop design documentation based on application requirements

Responsible for developing and testing code per project schedule

Responsible for escalating risks and issues to the Project Manager

Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting production support issues.

Responsible for providing technical support and input on the application of technology.

Responsible for providing advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments.

Contributes to knowledge tools and communities, and ensures project learning’s are documented and shared.



The candidate must be self-motivated with excellent communication and problem solving skills, able to work independently with little guidance, and able to work in a team environment.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree (+/-16 years)
  
  
  

Knowledge and Skills:



Bachelor’s Degree required (computer science, information systems, business major preferred)

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to articulate technical or operational problems into understandable business terms appropriate for the audience.

• Proven ability to analyze, design and develop applications using an object oriented approach.

• 3 or more years experience developing Java and Java EE applications

• 2 or more years experience using web application frameworks such as Struts, JavaServer Faces, Spring, or WebLogic JMS.

• Experience using LINK or Hybernate for database persistence layer.

• Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, JDeveloper).

• Prior experience with the following tools is beneficial but not required: Oracle 11g web/app server, Subversion for source control, and Maven build process

• Ability to consistently apply quality and security standards.

• Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting - determine causes of errors and drive problem resolution to ensure business continuity

• Experience with testing tools, unit and integration test scripting and testing methodologies.

• Java certifications preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of AGILE software development using SCRUM, preferred but not required.



TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:



• Java and Java EE development

• Object Oriented Development

• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

• Experience with web services and SOA framework, preferred but not required.
