Description
The engineer is responsible for Electric and Electronic parts and sub-assemblies in an Inkjet Printer. He/she will support the development of the printer and subsequently support the production ramp to meet demand. He/she is expected to work closely with the HP cross functional teams and external partners.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Responsible for PCA (Printer circuit assembly), External Module (WIFI,BT, RFID), and Electric and Electronic Assemblies (Motors, Sensor, cable harness, Control panel, Flex cables, speaker, SLBs, ferrite) meeting functionality.
• Engage R&D to understand printer EE architecture, design intent, design characterization, design margin and issue resolution.
• Provide valuable DFx to enable a robust product design, at the same time meeting manufacturing requirement of yield and cycle time.
• Stabilize PCA design through driving design issue closure and test coverage improvement.
• To identify and classify EE issues into process, material or design related and work with the respective owners on resolution.
• Carry out diagnosis on EE issues, report detailed data and analysis to his/her HP or external counterpart to assist the latter in assessing the severity of the problem and determine any follow up actions.
• Oversee EE readiness to ramp, and capacity installation to meet demand.
• Engage respective counterpart to resolve EE material and process related issue.
• Manage EE material readiness, EE tools/station setup (e.g Hi-pot Tester), ESD (electric Static damage) buyoff, PCA/EE parts matrix and firmware verification upon release
• Coordinate control/Risk run and monitor product performance to support any DFX and issue resolution activities
• Manage and track PCA, top level and CSA (Customer satisfaction audit),EE product quality issue.
• Maintain the PCA BOM/AVL (approved vendor list).
• Yield and test coverage improvement.
• Manage technical meeting and forums to ensure program delivery in timely manner
• Communicate and facilitate technical deliverables with internal & external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Prefer 2 years of experience in supporting manufacturing of electronics products.
- New graduates are welcome to apply.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of electronics principle and microprocessor based circuit design.
- Familiar in I/O interfaces, bus protocols, memories, Sensors, Encoders, Fax, Modem, CGD, Bluetooth and WIFI technologies.
- Excellent analytical problem solving, failure analysis, debug techniques and use of troubleshooting tools.
- Familiar with industry leading schematic capture, layout and simulation tools.
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Proficient in English language
- Able to work independently to perform tasks assigned to him/her
- Resourceful and result oriented
- Project management skills
