HP Exstream Developer

Due to a healthy pipeline of future projects, we are currently looking to appoint a rounded HP Exstream professional. The successful individual will have the opportunity to grow within a small cohesive team and become part of the HP global footprint.

As a true specialist in your field, you will be fully conversant and open to demonstrating your HP Exstream skillset. Ideally a combination of business skills and technical experience, would be highly beneficial.

Although a deep understanding of HP Exstream would be key to your success, extended exposure to any of the large scale composition products such as Word merge and tools such as xPression, Elixir, Thunderhead and Papyrus could potentially add weight to your application and any sales or pre-sales experience would also be highly regarded.

Your confidence and well developed communication is paramount, as this role will be responsible for successfully articulating written client proposals and demonstrations.

Key responsibilities:

• Designs units for others and completes development to implement complex components.


• Contributes to design activities; may design solutions.


• Develops independently; participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews. May lead and provide mentoring and guidance to less senior developers.


• Designs, prepares and executes unit tests.


• Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to maintain one or more technology areas (e.g. Web-site Development).


• Applies HP and 3rd party technologies to complex software solutions of moderate complexity.


• Independently implements end-user or enterprise solutions complexity or services prepared by more senior technologists for more complex solutions.


• Delegating work to others and providing time and resource estimates for assigned tasks.

Skills and experience required:

• Basic Understanding of RDBMS databases such SQL Server and Oracle.


• Experience in multiple data formats (xml, csv, copybook (COBOL fixed field),


• Knowledge of multiple PDL (print languages) - PDF, Postscript, Metacode, AFP, LCDS


• A solid background writing code using languages such as (and not limited to) COBOL, PL/1, Java, C, C++, C#, VB.Net.


• An ability to work with Web-development tools for new applications


• Solid experience or significant exposure to one or more full release project life cycles.


• A strong understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).


• A basic understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies.


• Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio).


• Collections knowledge, barcodes, MICR/OCR for client remittance processes


• A strong understanding basic Database Administration.


• An ability to apply consistently quality and security standards.


• Developed verbal and written communication skills.


• General project management and team leading skills.


• Ability to work effectively with clients and the team at a technical level
