Senior Payroll Officer

Melbourne, Australia, AU - Accounting

• Senior Payroll standalone position

Our Client a market leading wholesale company are currently seek a Senior Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis in the Melbourne CBD.



You will report into the Finance Manager and work autonomously as this is a standalone position performing full function for up to 480 staff made up of casual and permanent staff. The pay run is done weekly and monthly.



It is essential that you have strong experience in the Micro pay system and a proven track record in a payroll capacity handling the volume of employees above.



Monthly end-to-end payroll, including:



* Superannuation - reconciliation and payment,

* Payroll tax/workers compensation - reconciliation and payment,

* PAYE payment,

* GU Insurance - reconciliation and payment

* EBA awards

* Journal preparation,

* Answer staff queries/questions via email and phone.

* Adhoc duties as required.



Key Knowledge, Skills and Competencies



* Tertiary or industry qualifications in Finance/Payroll an advantage but not essential,

* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a payroll environment,

* Micro Pay payroll system is essential,

* Intermediate skills in MS Excel,

* Meticulous attention to detail, and high level of accuracy,

* Familiarity with tax & superannuation legislation affecting payroll,

* Ability to perform with minimal supervision and be a team player,

* Excellent communication skills,

* Truthful and honest in all dealings and always acting in good conscience,

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy legislation in relation to staff and business information.
