Software Account Executive

HP Software is looking to recruit a Global Account Manager to be responsible for the Software business at Telefónica world-wide. The successful applicant will be have responsibility for sales of HP software to the account on a global basis - this will include sell to and sell through with Telefónica Global Services. Supported by a team of software specialists this role is responsible for selling the complete HP Software portfolio, including the IT Operations Management solutions, Application Delivery Management solutions, HP Enterprise Security Products and HP’s Big Data solutions (Vertica and Autonomy).
Responsibilities include:
• Achievement of sales targets and development of a strong pipeline
• Development of an account based business plan and overall software strategy
• Co-ordination of the sales activities across multiple HP Software business units and countries
• Management and support for the software specialist team working on Telefónica
• Development and leadership of strategic sales pursuits and business development activities
• Development of a JGTM business across HP Software with Telefónica Global Services
• Close co-operation with the Account General Manager and overall HP account team
• Development of key executive relationships with the global account
• Knowledge of HP Software products and solutions
• Negotiation and closing of key projects
• Engagement of HP Software executive sponsors to grow HPs share of wallet in the account
• This role requires up to 30% international travel
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (written, presentation and spoken)
- 10+ years’ experience selling enterprise infrastructure software to FTSE 100 companies
- 7+ years’ experience selling software solutions at a CxO level. Proven success with top down $1M+ software sales and experience of selling ROI based solutions to CIO level.
- Proven track record of over achievement in an enterprise software vendor. Experience with large software vendors in domestic and international markets
- Experience of selling software solutions relevant to HP Software (IT Management, Security or Big Data).
- Experience with direct software sales to global accounts. Experience of working with C-level executives in Fortune 500 companies and building relationships throughout organizations
- Strong background in business development, experience of account management
- Experience of building a JGTM business and working with large systems integrators, such as Telefónica Global Services to drive revenue growth
- Experience of working in a highly matrix management environment. Previous experience as a manager of a team or geographic area
- Extensive experience of the Telco/service provider industry, preferably with direct experience of selling to Telefónica and a good understanding of the competitive landscape in Telefónica
- Good understand and experience of selling Cloud, Software Defined Networks and NFV in a Telco environment.
