YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leveraging Bayer’s unique position in Life Sciences: Research at the interface of human,

animal and plant health. We are looking to fill a temporary position for a highly motivated

scientific researcher to participate in the Bayer technology program. The main task of the

position will be the deployment of statistical and computational methods to metabolomics data

to evaluate the biological validity of therapeutic targets or biomarkers and contribute to target

discovery efforts within the therapeutic areas of Bayer HealthCare. The selected candidate

will work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and bioinformaticians at Bayer

HealthCare, also allowing scientific exchange with the metabolomics team at Bayer

CropScience within an integrative program.

• Work in a cross-disciplinary project team between Bayer Pharma and Bayer CropScience to

build up a comprehensive metabolomics platform for NMR, MS/MS and LC-MS data to foster

cross-disciplinary research

• Collaborate on the experimental design and analysis of metabolomics studies in the fields of

oncology, cardiology, biomarkers and toxicology for Bayer Pharma

• Use and further develop tools, workflows and databases to enable sound metabolomics

analyses at Bayer Pharma and Bayer CropScience

• Initiate and supervise collaborations with academic partners or (external) software

developers to provide fast and easy end user solutions
