Vacancy for Trade Compliance Manager EMEA in the area of Northern Holland, on a permanent basis.

The Trade Compliance Manager EMEA will drive the overall Trade Compliance strategy, activities and requirements for the Pharmaceutical Imports and Exports for the EMEA region. The Trade Compliance Manager – Pharmaceuticals will ensure Regional compliance with all applicable company policies and Customs and other government agency regulations while managing the expeditious flow of international trade. Within the region, this role will be the subject matter expert on all matters regarding Trade Compliance and will be key decision maker on issues regarding Trade Compliance within the specific region.

Tasks and responsibilities
Drive Trade Compliance requirements for regional import and export manufacturing line transfers and
coordinate classifications with trade compliance in receiving countries. Participate as core team member on Pharmaceuticals new product development teams ensuring that all Trade Compliance requirements are met.
Provide advice and counsel to management on trade requirements for major initiatives and special projects within the region. Research and make decisions regarding Regional Customs and other government agency requirements for Pharmaceuticals products related to acquisitions and develop process maps where applicable.
Engage global trade compliance to research Customs and regulatory requirements for new destination markets including import licenses, valuation, documentation and import restrictions and communicate back to Pharmaceuticals Supply Chain business. Monitor the organizations designated Regional Customs Brokers and evaluate adherence to the organizations brokerage SOP, report findings to corporate trade compliance and ensure corrective action is implemented.
The Trade Compliance Manager collaborates with internal departments to determine the need for Regional Government agency import permits, gathers complete information to obtain permits and ensures that they are obtained within required deadlines. Monitor and report on compliance effectiveness, identify compliance gaps, advise on local risk and manage mitigation of these risks. Monitor EU Customs Community Directives, aligning business process to comply with changing requirements including trusted trader programs.
Support global trade compliance initiatives, internal audit and self-assessment program requirements.

Your profile
You have a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics International Business and approx. 5-8 years’ experience in Customs Brokerage / International Transportation / Logistics. You are a proven leader and the ability to effectively manage indirect reports. You have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to conduct trainings and present to large groups.
Thorough understanding of specific region’s regulations and industry practices and in-depth knowledge of tariff classification, valuation and country of origin determination laws. You are fluent in English and any other European language is a big plus. Preferably you have Customs Broker’s License or Equivalent Certification
