Job Summary/Responsibilities

As a Cloud Software Engineer you will be part of a multi-function world class HP R&D organization helping to create the future for the Large Format Production business. You will work with our lean team of developers and partners to innovate & deliver significant value to our customers. We combine discovery, new technologies and rigorous execution to deliver creative workflow solutions and applications to the marketplace.

The role requires excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of agile software development, Linux server administration, networking, mobile apps and maintenance of key applications and services running on virtualized and non-virtualized platforms.

Experience/Skills Required

This role requires both depth and breadth in most of the technologies leveraged in complex data center environments to support multi-tiered cloud applications for mobile and web access.

Customer touch to develop the right applications (mobile, web) and skills to adapt the best technology that fits the needs.

The role requires talented people with a strong work ethic, pragmatic approach and the following skills:

Required

• PhD, MSc, BCS degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering

• In depth understanding of web architectures, such as model-view-controller, load balancing techniques and agile deployment methodologies.

• Experience with relational SQL and No-SQL database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra and CouchDB.

• Experience on Java, HTML5, Cappuccino and other JS frameworks.

• Experience on Ruby on Rails, WordPress Plugin developments, Wix plugins, Drupal or Magento.

• Experience on Android and iOS app development.

• Experience in monitoring, metrics collection, and reporting using open source tools.

• Good knowledge of scripting languages such as Ruby, PHP, Perl, etc.

• Good knowledge of TCP/IP LAN/WAN networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques

• Good understanding of PKI. Hardware Security Module (HSM) management experience is a plus.

• Excellent organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules and an understanding of business initiatives.

• Critical attention to detail, thoroughness and documentation

• A thorough background check and references will be required.

Desired

• 3+ years’ experience in a 24×7 high-availability production environment

• Linux System Administration in complex data center environments

• Expertise in deploying Application Server such as JBoss EAP, Websphere or Weblogic in multi-tier architecture

• Experience in J2EE, JMS, MQ and SOAP application troubleshooting

• A background in automating the management of a data center environments

• Industry certifications, preferably RHCE, CCNA and CCNP

• Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle

• Security compliance experience such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001 or SOX

• Experience with intrusion detection systems and network and server security hardening

• Experience with hardware or software based firewalls, load balancers and proxy servers
