Senior Management Accountant

A well known and respected business based on the outskirts of Lancaster have instructed Hays to source a Senior Management Accountant to join the finance function. With an attractive salary and benefit package they are seeking an experienced individual who meets the following requirements.



The successful candidate will:

* Be responsible for the production of daily, weekly and monthly variance reports (including warranty analysis) and promotion of these to cell and manufacturing managers to ensure a greater control of manufacturing variances

* Perform exceptional reviews of material variances from the above reports with implementation of processes and actions to ensure that variances caused by system or operational error are eradicated in conjunction with cell management.

* Be the key contact for manufacturing and standard costing questions from either operations and/or sales and take ownership of both the daily and annual standard cost reviews

* Assist with overhead reviews and monitoring of spend to budget and forecast expectations for all departments. Ensuring all month end overhead accruals are in place

⢠Take overall responsibility for control of stock takes for two business units, working with the BU's FP&A's to introduce cycle counting

⢠Be responsible for inventory and factory reporting, maintaining existing reports, and also improving the reporting in this area in line with management needs.

⢠Complete periodic E&O reviews, and regular reviews to ensure adequacy of provisions

⢠Introduce monthly management accounts pack, and review with managers

⢠Assist with the annual budget completion

⢠Be actively involved in month-end close process, and subsequent reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts.

⢠Be involved in the preparation and submission of capital expenditure requests, and management of fixed asset register.

⢠Perform weekly analysis and review of sales and associated standard margin.



You will have excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel. This role also requires you to have formal qualification and relevant manufacturing experience.



The right candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable and hard working with the ability to work on your own initiative or part of a team when the need arises. Good organisation and communication skills are essential along with a good eye for detail.
