My client, a growing and well respected SME based in Herefordshire are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager on a permanent contract.



Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for the Finance Team and be a key player in the day to day running of the finance department.



Need to have:

· Confident, self-starter able to act on own initiative

· Able to review others work and feedback positively to a successful outcome

· Knowledge of financial IT systems

· Previous experience of team management

· Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and working to tight deadlines.

· Demonstrate attention to detail and logical decision making

· Understand the requirements of an audit and internal controls

· VAT knowledge

· Payroll knowledge



The role:

Overseeing the day to day activities of the Finance Function, providing key support to the Finance Director and ensuring that the finance office is well organised and produces accurate, timely and relevant reporting.

· Ensure that systems and internal control are maintained.

· Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.

· Review Monthly Accounts file and report on outstanding issues, areas of risk and materiality to the Finance Director in preparation for the monthly Finance board report.

· Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are complete and inter-company balances reconciled.

· Production of the annual statutory accounts

· Preparation of annual accounts pack in readiness for auditors and liaison with auditors

· Review of VAT returns and ensure all statutory filings are completed on time

· With the Finance Director set the finance reporting calendar for the year and ensure all reports are produced within the required timescale.

· Support group accountants to ensure the Board pack is complete each month.

· Preparation of Group annual cash flow and forecast balance sheet

· Timely and accurate preparation of forecasts
