A Pursuit Lead is the primary customer contact for VGE on the specific mega deal. He/she will identify, qualify, propose, win, and implement large-scale transformational global opportunities typically in excess of 50ME TCV in collaboration with Vodafone C-levels, VGE SLT, the existing global account team, and third-parties. Such opportunities will be identified within VGE Sales Region. Typical duration of such opportunities last 6-18 months.
Key accountabilities:
- Impact on the business
- Build a qualified "mega-deal" opportunity pipeline and strategy; identify targeted global accounts and significant opportunities justifying the support by a Global Pursuit Lead.
- Accountable for winning the big / complex deal/opportunity
- Customers, supplier and third parties
- Influences VF Account Sponsors, SLT and Group decision makers to secure appropriate resource and delivery to nominated customers within milestones and timeframes
- Accountable for professional C-level stakeholder management both within the customer and Vodafone
- Hold meetings and presentations to build account awareness and opportunity pipeline; designing sales campaigns for wider deployment (e.g., proactive proposals to targeted
- accounts); working with procurement consultants for RfPs or market development
- Accountable for internal sign-off of the VGE submission to the customer
- Leadership and teamwork
- For the duration of the Opportunity, leads the global account team consisting permanently of Global Account Manager and Global Service Manager in addition to opportunity-driven account teams.
- Accountable for organising and leading interdepartmental "pursuit/deal teams" across Sales, Product Management, Commercial, CSO, Finance, etc.
- To recommend a go /no-go at each relevant gate and to lead the sales efforts in engagement, positioning, promoting, selling and advocating to the customer
- Defines and specifies the outline resource requirements to fulfil all pre-work and submission within timelines and works with existing Sales/Service leaders (GAM,GSM etc) to ensure all “complex” bid activity compliments and supports the short/medium and long terms objectives
- Innovation and change
- Acts as Voice of the Customer within VGE to ensure that customer’s views and needs influence our marketing mix including product / proposition roadmap
- Knowledge and experience
- Deep understanding of the customer’s business, it’s market and industry alongside key decision-makers and influencers in account organisation
- Ability to translate customer’s objectives and strategy into relevant VGE Impact the business: Lead exponential growth of the most strategic national accounts, with focus on client needs, propositions and solutions
- Communication
- Lead customer meetings designed for customer C-level
- Liaise with Vodafone Global Enterprise SLT as required for executive level sponsorship programme
- Accountable for professional stakeholder management both within the customer and Vodafone
