This local government organisation is committed to improving South East Queensland through the management of maintenance programs across their road and drainage network that will benefit the wider community.
The Road Construction and Maintenance team has been successful in a submission to the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (NDRRA) for funding assistance with regard to road pavement repairs as a result of disaster being declared for Logan from the impact of the former Tropical Cyclone Oswald and associated rainfall and flooding in January 2013.
As Pavement Repair Project Coordinator you will be required to exercise a high degree of autonomy in coordinating with staff and supervising contractors, and is required to identify solutions to project delivery issues, implement resolutions, establish priorities and monitor workflow.
Monitoring project progress, you will identify milestones, provide regular status reports to Council and the QRA, negotiate with relevant authorities regarding pavement design and other variations to the project delivery parameters, mitigate risk factors and actively monitor project delivery budgets.
You will be a degree qualified Civil Engineer and/or Project Manager experienced in civil construction and road infrastructure, successfully managing large and complex projects in excess of $1 million. Registration as a professional engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) is highly desirable but not essential.
This role is being offered initially on a 6 month contract basis until September 2014.
