An exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join Apple's Messaging Services team. We build the cloud systems that power some of the busiest applications in the world, including iMessage, FaceTime and Apple Push Notifications. We handle hundreds of millions of active users using some of the most desirable devices on the planet and several Billion iMesssages/day, 40 billion push notifications/day, 16 trillion push notifications sent to date. You'll have the opportunity to explore a wide range of technologies, developing the server software that is driving the future of messaging and mobile services. Key Qualifications




  • 5 years experience in software development (preferably in Java/C#)

  • Familiarity with modern server technologies (e.g., non-blocking IO, distributed storage, etc.)

  • Experience with network protocols, storage systems, security algorithms

  • Independence and initiative

  • Comfort maintaining live production systems

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, cross functional setting




Description



The Messaging Services team is looking for a talented software engineer to help us develop Apple's messaging platform. The ideal candidate is a solid generalist with great technical chops, one who understands client-server architectures and distributed systems.



In this role, you'll build the server stacks for iMessage, FaceTime, Apple Push Notifications, and other systems. You'll design system architectures, specify custom network protocols, and implement high performance code. You'll also develop scalability strategies for applications that support hundreds of millions of users.



We're a small team, with a focus on individual responsibility and agile development. In this role, you'll have the opportunity learn new technologies, going as deep as you like. If you enjoy thinking big and having an impact, you'll enjoy working with us!
