This fast paced government department are currently undertaking major construction projects, whilst also updating their internal software system. Added workload has created a long-term vacancy for polished a Procurement Specialist to assist in developing and delivering new strategies.
A polished professional, you must have significant managerial experience in undertaking strategic procurement processes within a primarily in-direct category. You will have demonstrable experience in developing commercial strategies and business plans, while instilling best practice procurement governance through effective policies, standardised documentation and training. Fully conversant in conducting market analysis / benchmarking, you will then implement processes to deliver cost savings and value add benefits. Able to define performance targets (financial and non-financial) and assessment metrics, you must also assess and reduce risk, such as security of supply as part of the strategy development.
With a strong background in negotiating contract and contract amendments, you will support the implementation of supply management, supplier, process improvement projects as well as supply relationships for cost, service, quality, innovation. Further to this you must have had experience in developing and implementing supplier development programs, while monitoring and auditing supplier performance against financial, non-financial targets and contract
