IT Manager

One of my Public Sector clients based in Oxford is urgently recruiting for an IT Manager for a 3 - 6 month fixed term contract, with option to become a permanent member of staff.



You will work closely with the other technical divisions day to day, to ensure the smooth delivery of the IT department is met, as well as managing and developing requirements for future projects. This role covers overseeing the Infrastructure and Development team - knowledge of Windows XP & 7 are essential for this role. Although the majority of the development is managed outside of this department, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of HTML and CSS.



The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills at all levels, and be able to communication complex IT issues to technical and non technical teams, as well as the ability to organise and influence stakeholders, in order to manage the companies IT assets. In addition to this, you will oversee the running of the Service Desk and it's management. You will also be responsible for purchasing and managing existing and new supplier accounts and negotiation on price, to minimise costs.



Our client is looking for a candidate with a strong academic background (ideally a minimum of BTEC, OND and equivalent professional qualification, in a computing subject). You will have extensive experience of Win7, Win XP, Mac OSX, MS Office 2007/ 2010. You will also have strong knowledge of hardware (hands on and be able to identify different software and hardware faults).
