Traffic Design Engineer
Traffic Design Engineer required for role based within the Sustainable Transport team of our client based in North London.
The successful candidate will assist in the design and implementation of Traffic Calming and management schemes, Local Safety Schemes, Safer Routes to School etc., London Cycle Network Schemes & Walking Schemes, CPZ's and Traffic Order Making schemes, Planned Maintenance, Footways and Carriageways, Bus Priority Schemes, development schemes i.e. Section 106 etc. and associated signal designs, other externally funded schemes such as NDC or Housing and other major schemes in the local area.
We are seeking a candidate with proven successful experience in programme/project and contract management, prioritisation of works programmes, and delivering these within agreed constraints including ability to manage within contract procedures, conditions, specifications, tender evaluation, project, performance and financial management procedures in a contract environment. The ideal candidate should possess a detailed understanding of urban design principles and how these would be applied to engineering and transport projects. You should also have the ability to apply detailed technical knowledge to produce high quality, effective designs incorporating best practice which will achieve stated outcomes and improve the appearance of the borough You should also have a qualification in Engineering/Transportation/Urban Design to degree level or equivalent with at least three years successful post qualification experience in a practising senior position.
