Costing & Project Accountant

A Public Sector organisation based in Poole with a £240M turnover and over 7000 staff throughout Dorset now seeks a Cost & Project Accountant. This position will report to the Head of Management Accounts and have key relationships with Budget Managers, Trust Directors and Internal/External Auditors.

Responsibilities and duties in this job include;



· Provision of accurate and timely cost information on behalf of the Trust in line with Trust and national costing guidance and timetables

· Joint responsibilities for the Trust's costing and front end reporting tools, maintaining in line with agreed Trust methodologies and technical updates

· Joint responsibilities for the implementation and monitoring of Payment by Results (PbR) in line with Trust and national costing guidance and timetables

· Joint responsibilities for the completion and submission of the Trust's annual National Schedule of Reference Costs (NSRC), Mapping exercises and PbR costing requirements

· Joint responsibilities for the monthly production of robust Service Line Reporting (SLR), working within a team of Management Accountants

· Operate proactively as a senior representative of the Finance & Performance Management Directorate to investigate, report and improve upon financial performance

· Ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place and maintained to deliver the financial duties and objectives of the Trust



You will be CCAB/CIMA Qualified and have experience in budgetary control financial planning, forecasting and possess strong costing knowledge. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels is essential. You will have a professional, considered and methodical approach and be highly organised and flexible in your working practice. There is some travel but the role is mainly based at our Poole office. You will also be IT literate with advanced Excel skills.
