In order to prepare the organization for unparalleled growth in the aerospace and commercial industries, United Technologies Corporation (UTC) has recently launched the One Company Aerospace and Commercial Supply Chain transformation strategy.Reporting to the Commodity Director, Electronics within UTCs Corporate Operations organization, the Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager, Electronics (CM) will develop and execute complex sourcing strategies for electronics/electrical commodities across all UTC business units. The CM will also partner with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, and Technical leaders to identify supply chain opportunities in the commodity. In this highly visible role, the CM will be expected to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders at the corporate and business unit levels and to execute sourcing strategies to drive value and significantly impact UTC bottom-line profitability by leveraging the One Corporation approach.The CM is responsible for initiating major strategic sourcing projects that have a significant impact for the Corporation and its business units in meeting quality, cost and delivery objectives and reducing the companys exposure to any high risk impact associated with the assigned commodity.The CM will identify leverage points between the business units, align those with business unit leadership and teams and support or lead their execution.The CM will monitor supply base industries to identify breakthrough opportunities with regards to cost reduction and new technologies.The CM will work with the business units to implement global strategic sourcing objectives for global make and buy and will drive gap closure efforts to ensure that the business units achieve or exceed annual targets. Additionally, the CM will be responsible for identifying and driving ventures and strategy to accelerate the journey for global sourcing and presence. The successful candidate will manage projects and be responsible for: Identifying,negotiating and delivering commercially favorable contracts. Delivering optimal value for strategic commodities to Business Units/Departments using best practices,professional tools and techniques. Working with Business Units to identify multiple, large (>$10M) global sourcing work packages for transition to strategic global partners. Driving cost reduction opportunities with the business units and establishing necessary Master Terms Agreements which leverage UTC Spend. Identifying and qualifying new suppliers and/or partners. Benchmarking and sharing best practices Supply base consolidation, inventory reduction, and cash flow improvement. Maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies and business trends in the commodity and incorporate these trends, when appropriate, into the commoditys strategic plan.Success in this position will be measured by accomplishing the BU annual goals of global sourcing, driving acceleration of the cost reduction efforts, and identifying ventures that enable business units to increase campaign and global strategic sourcing opportunities.
