Apple's Internet Software & Services organization is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Software Engineer who will play a central role in the development and delivery of the new Spotlight Suggestions search service. As a member of our fast-paced group, you’ll have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape the future of information search and discovery.

We are looking for people with experience with high-performance, high-volume, data-focused Linux/Unix server side products. Experience in search technologies is a plus, but not required.

Key Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Release, Build or Test engineering roles.
• 3 years of experience with data quality testing or QA on data centric product.
• 3 years of experience in a hosted service / SaaS environment.
• Comfortable in one or more of the following scripting languages: Python or Perl is preferred.
• Proven experience in an Agile environment.
• Fluid user of Unix and comfortable with Unix tools like grep, bash, find, strace.
• Experience with Git, branching and bug tracking systems.
• Significant experience with the software lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Description

• Perform verification of software components.
• Act as a project manager for the overall weekly release.
• Create strategies for catching regressions.
• Create and execute checklists for verification of software, data and relevance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to perform evaluation of components.
• Contribute to automated test suite.
• Contribute to the quality strategy of the products.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
