Financial Controller

An exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant in the New Forest who is seeking a commercial finance position. You will be qualified CIMA/ACCA or the client is happy to consider a QBE as long as you have a depth of experience and be multi functional.

You will also manage 4 people within a very strong team and therefore you will need to have had line manager experience in the past to apply for this position.



The position is a business facing role with exposure to senior stakeholders both finance and non- finance. As a financial controller you will be competent in creating and supporting budget preparation, variance analysis and making informed decisions on business matters. The key responsibilities of the role will include:



Responsible for collating, reviewing in detail and challenging the financial statements.

Fully understanding and investigating variances to budget.

Supporting in planning, designing, collating and preparing the forecasts and annual budgets.

Preparation of monthly management accounts.

Analysing company performance and reviewing the key drivers in the business. Where necessary, developing reports to assist management with strategic decision making

Assisting with year-end statutory accounts.

Highlighting to executive management lower than expected performance and other areas of concern.

Developing and monitoring KPI's

Understanding of revenue streams, knowing when to make improvements.

Cost controls and customer invoicing management.



The role can be developed and tailored by the successful applicant so this is a great opportunity that could also have progression to that of a future Finance Director in approximately 3 years time when the current FD is planning to retire.

Current system being used is IRIS Exchequer but you will need strong Excel experience working with Pivots & lookups.
