The Strategy and Competitive Intelligence Organization of HP is seeking a Market and Competitive Intelligence Senior Analyst in Herndon, Virginia. This individual will support the HP Enterprise Services, US Public Sector Practice teams by delivering high-quality, decision-relevant market intelligence and competitive information to support strategy development, business planning, and sales pursuits specific to the Practice areas. This individual will also serve as the team lead for Practices support, responsible for the overall engagement model, analytic framework, process, toolset, and prioritization of needs working with the Practice leaders.
Specific duties include:
•Gathers and analyzes market and competitive information to develop effective strategies for practice growth
•Analyzes competitors in terms of SES offerings, strategy, M&A activity, technical specs, and pricing
•Gathers and analyzes contract data, budget data, and Department/Agency R&D budget and spend data to aid in pipeline development, investment strategy, and general competitor knowledge
•Gathers and analyzes investment business case data; works with Practice and offering leaders to develop an accurate understanding of the cost to invest and the potential business opportunities that may be met through this investment.
•Leads and / or provides expertise to functional project teams and may lead cross-functional initiatives
•Serve as the interface for the Market Analysis and CI self-service tools, training, previously developed analysis, and subscription services, leveraging available information and helping to deploy CI best practices throughout the region.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelors degree required
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• 10+ years experience in the federal government market required
• 8+ years experience working as an analyst in a similar business environment -providing competitive intelligence support and market analysis
• Experience in state and local government market is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of the US Public Sector market
• Broad knowledge of HP Enterprise Service business and its competitors
• Broad experience in business planning and strategy development
• Deep expertise in analytical methods, tools, and key financial metrics
• Experience in working across the organization to achieve desired outcome
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at the executive level
• Must be a self-starter and focused on continuous process improvement
• Experience using contract databases such as GovWin IQ, FedBizOpps, and FPDS
• Experience analyzing and extracting data from government budget documents
• Experience analyzing and extracting data from analyst sites such as: Gartner, Deltek, Bloomberg, NelsonHall, Current Analysis, TBR, IDC, PAC, and Forrester
