Hays are recruiting a Members and Partners events coordinator for a globally recognised Sydney Museum.
The purpose of the position is to take overall responsibility for events across Membership, Volunteers and Commercial Partners (primarily sponsors). This role is integral to supporting the Member function producing commercially viable events that attract and build both individual and family memberships. The role may be required to assist and support the membership activities (such as renewals and driving new memberships) from time to time.
You will be required to develop, implement and manage the Member's exclusive events and activities to ensure a successful and financially viable events program. You will develop a clear schedule to market, manage and secure sufficient members to each event is prepared. This will include a profit and loss analysis for the event, and ensuring pre payment for all members.
After each event you will be required to highlight any issues as they become apparent to the success of an event - such as (but not limited to) insufficient numbers to generate profit or break even, or expense blow outs due to unforseen circumstances.
You will be required to manage all aspects of the events in this portfolio including invitations, RSVPs, database management and updating, coordination and communication within the museum and with speakers and/or third parties as required
To be eligible for this role you must have demonstrated a high level of ability and experience in managing and developing successful programs of activities and events for a Members (or similar) program at a cultural institution. You will have the ability to deliver financially viable events - with profit and loss experience of event budgets. You must have a high level of communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with the public, volunteers, academic and special interest groups. To be eligible for this role you must be an Australian citizen or have full working rights in Australia.
