Based in the heart of Oxfordshire is a biological pioneering organisation uncovering the complexity of DNA construction and determining the intricacy of DNA make-up, their work is ground-breaking and world class. They seek a Computational Scientist to work closely with experimental scientists to refine hypotheses, perform in-depth technical analysis of data and report results clearly; working with scripting languages such as C/C++, Perl/Python, and Matlab.



You will join a team responsible for researching and developing novel approaches to processing signals from their platform and will be expected to work independently to achieve the team's aims. You will work across many different applications, looking at both raw and application-specific data to improve their understanding of the platform and open up new uses.



You will be required to help support the department's experimental work: working directly with experimental scientists to refine hypotheses, perform in-depth technical analysis of data and report results clearly.



Your experience will either derive from a Ph.D or a commercial job, involving a substantial numerical component, e.g. engineering, mathematics, physics. You will either have experience of obtaining results from real (noisy) systems. E.g. signal processing of radar / sonar data, speech recognition, particle physics, fluid dynamics, telescope images, biophysical data or have excellent knowledge of C/C++ or other high-performance languages. You will be a strong communicator and relationship builder with the ability to facilitate change.
