Systems/Hardware Engineer (Entry Level/Graduate)

Description



College graduate, entry-level engineering development and qualification position in the HP Storage Networking Research & Development Engineering Group. The position is in the area of storage networking technology and protocols including: Fibre Channel, Ethernet, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), iSCSI and other related technologies. Applies to HP internally developed products and joint HP-development partner/OEM products. Work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope, and exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.



Responsibilities




  • Participate as a junior member of a development team in the product development and release process, from initial product concept through system level qualification to product release

  • Assist with the development of new product requirements/features

  • Assist with the definition and execution of design verification test (DVT) and qualification test processes, including debug of hardware/firmware and system qualification testing

  • Other responsibilities may include assisting with customer documentation development and HP storage specialist/field technical training development




HP is unable to sponsor H1 Visa's at this time



QUALIFICATIONS:



Education and Experience



Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline



Knowledge and Skills



The candidate should have conceptual and basic understanding of computer software/hardware architecture, networking, including Ethernet and Storage Area Network (SAN) technology.

Knowledge of computer architecture - software/hardware/ I/O systems



Knowledge of computer networking technologies



Knowledge of computer design concepts



Project-related skills:




  • Collaboration/teamwork

  • Organization/management

  • Scoping/scheduling

  • Documentation/writing
