Modern Trade Development Manager

Singapore, SG - Consumer Goods



Our client is a global market leader in the consumer goods (FMCG) sector, with strong consumer loyalty as a result of their quality products and care for consumers. The company is expanding here in Singapore, and a newly created role has emerged to lead the modern trade channel here.



Reporting into the Country Sales Director, you will be responsible for the strategic development and growth of the modern term channel, covering super and hyper-markets, across all categories. You will be responsible for building relationships with key customers, and provide consultative sales strategies for them while driving the company's growth targets. This will range from the negotiation of trade terms, through to development of customized campaigns and initiatives focused on your clients' target consumers. You will seek to further build market share, and cement your leadership in the various categories.



The ideal candidate should come with 8-10 years key account management experience in the modern off-trade channel here in Singapore. You must have excellent working relationships with the respective customers, with a track record of success in driving business growth and market share. Past experience in negotiating trade terms is a key requisite, along with budget management and ROI (return-on-investment) analysis. A current team leader, you will be expected to build a team here. Hence, strong leadership and excellent influencing skills is key. Fluency in English (written and spoken) and other Asian language(s) or dialects will be important for your success.
