The Company:



A market leader across the UK and Ireland, this company have over 60 stores, specialising in a range electronics and games. Best known for the specialist team of staff who are experts in their given area, they have been known as the 'go to' store with the right standard of customer care and range of products to suit a versatile consumer need in a highly competitive market.



The role: (Deputy Manager - Glasgow)



As a result of the company's ongoing expansion plan, they plan to open a new store in the Glasgow area, and are keen to recruit and experienced deputy manager. Reporting directly to the store manager, the successful candidate will have experience of managing a store up to 10,000 sq ft, with a turnover of over £4 million, overseeing the training and development of up to 20 staff. As deputy manager, you will have full accountability for growing sales and profitability within your department, as well as regularly overseeing the store in the absence of the store manager. Staff efficiency has been a core focus for the company in recent months, so you will motivate your team to be productive and sales focused with every customer of the branch.



Responsibilities:

Leading by example in a hands-on role

Recruitment, training and development

Leading, managing and motivating a 20 member team of staff

Working with high volumes of products

Developing a sound working knowledge of the products sold

Stock management to include shrinkage targets

Profit and loss accountability



The person:



The successful candidate will have a strong retail background, with a proven track record at assistant manager level. Comfortable with working in a large fast paced environment, you will be expected to manage large teams, high stock volumes in a fast paced, customer service driven environment.
