The role of Channels Business Architect will be a key position within the Group Technology, Strategy and Operations Consumer IT Delivery team in Newbury (UK) or London (UK).
The Channels Domain Centre of Excellence is responsible for defining, governing and driving the adoption of technical strategies, roadmap and standards for Vodafone Group and Local Markets. Through technical leadership and relevant product the Centre of Excellence aims to reduce the Vodafone (Group/Local Market) Total Cost of Ownership whilst delivering a step change in Customer Experience / Efficiency / Effectiveness.
The main purpose of the role is to:
- Develop and maintain a view of business processes that support channels business operations and customer journeys. Enabling technology views to be combined with best practice process views.
- Define and maintain the primary business functions of the channels domain and distinguish between customer-facing, supplier-related, business execution and business management functions.
- Define the business data shared across channels and the relationships between the data.
- Continuously develop and maintain the Vodafone Channels Business Architecture Framework that defines business outcomes mapped to business data and service.
- Support increased understanding of the Channels commercial unit product and service model ensuring technology supports adaptable product models.
- Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units. Maintain a view of how these units contribute to channels product or service development/ownership.
- Act as the point of governance and standard for the channels domain business analysis function. Ensure standards, patterns and best practice frameworks are being adopted to drive additional value into business analysis engagement.
As a Channels Business Architect your main responsibilities will involve:
- Owner of the channels business analysis standards and best practice
- Owner of the channels product and service model. Ensuring technology have a consistent and accurate view of business product and service models for channels
- Owner of the Business Architecture Framework that maps business outcomes to business data and service, used to accelerate business scope and benefit definition.
- Provide consultation to channels commercial units or local markets on best practice process and service models to support channels product introduction.
- Provide consultation services to Group and Local market channels stakeholders on business change that may result through implementation of Group design patterns or product.
As Channels Business Architect a your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- 3 Years within a business architect or Lead Business Analysis role.
- Appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
- The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions
- Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
- Experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
- Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization
- Appreciation of ETOM
- TOGAF
- Knowledge of SPARsEA (Optional – Training can be provided)
