The role of VGE Direct Accountant will be a key position within the Corporate Functions, Financial Controlling - Financial Reporting in Newbury (UK) and support the following -

• To lead on VGE Direct discussions and negotiations for reseller agreements with Vodafone OpCos to ensure intercompany model is implemented effectively
• Provide Finance support to Commercial and Product teams for VGE Direct proposition
• Advise key stakeholders both on OpCo and VGE side on the progress and impact of any changes
• Financial management and control of VGE Direct in order to deliver upon financial and operational goals
• Provide and communicate required information to all stakeholders for the periodical budget and forecast process in line with Group & VGE Finance deadlines
• Review monthly actuals and provide full monthly reporting together with full commentary and detailed analysis of historic and forecast performance for VGE Direct
• Apply appropriate IFRS and Vodafone accounting policies in order to accurately report financial detail on a monthly basis and for periodic forecasts and budgets
• Build strong cross functional relationships including Commercial, Product Teams, Central Billing Team
• Build strong OpCo relationships including CFOs, Commercial & Product Teams, Fin Ops, Intercompany teams

 

As VGE Direct Accountant your main responsibilities will involve:

VGE Direct performance

• Monthly reporting of VGE Direct performance by OpCo and customer
• Perform a detailed review of financial results, variances and trends with focus on the operational drivers and technical financial details
• Monthly revenue and margin analysis by customer and country
• Maintain consistent processes, procedures & reports in order to facilitate timely submission of analysis within VGE and to other Group functions as required
• Work with various management teams to provide input for Quarterly Business Reviews for Regional Financial Controllers
• Develop KPIs and reporting  in order to demonstrate performance and success of the VGE Direct proposition

Leadership and teamwork

• Provide thought leadership in how VGE Direct is fulfilling customer requirements and pain points and support Commercial and Product Teams on developing VGE Direct proposition for the benefit of both our customers and Vodafone
• Work with regional sales teams to ensure achievement of VGE Direct targets including driving cross regional deals
• Work closely with both Fin Ops and Intercompany Teams to understand and agree all entries being posted for VGE Direct transactions and ensuring appropriate controls are in place for these postings
• Develop strong relationships with internal customers across VGE, Group Finance and Vodafone Operating companies to encourage long term collaboration and transparency to support decision making
• Provide full analysis, insight & commentary to VGEL Business Partner within communicated timelines
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis projects
• Create original techniques and perspectives in order to analyse forward looking financial information on various topics
• Participate in the analysis of development projects as needed
• Create written analysis and executive summaries as needed
• Work with regional sales teams and regional controllers to review and create new opportunities to grow and develop VGE Direct new business

Innovation and change

• Development of internal tools, processes and controls to support the evolution of VGE Direct WIP reviews, invoicing and revenue forecasting
• Continually contribute to improving forecasting quality and accuracy, and design and develop enhanced procedures for budgeting activities

Knowledge and experience

• Use competitor and industry analysis to develop various commercial / financial alternatives and  to help drive efficiencies
• Develop knowledge and analytical skills to provide guidance to internal stakeholders
• Contribute as a VGE Finance team member and support others within own working area, sharing information and ideas
