In order to drive this continued success through our talented workforce, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Sales Specialist to sell Backup, Recovery and Archiving (BURA) infrastructure and software solutions in the Storage Division.

Core Focus of the BURA Specialist Role:

• Incremental Pipeline & Revenue Generation for BURA and more specifically PBBA (Purpose Build Backup Appliance)

• Providing deeper skill set and escalated expert sales coverage into BURA deals as required managed by HP Sales teams

• Owner of BURA regional business plan – push down for country to customize/localize, adopt and align

• Business development activities & BURA Champion, providing enablement and support to field sales

• Sales tracking and correction

• BURA program development and execution

• Point of escalation for BURA related challenges within HP sales force

• Influencing the adoption of BURA solutions to increase sales participation rates and revenue growth

• Market share and competitive analytics to support business plans

• Facilitator of BURA Solutions

• Customers and Partners C-Level engagement capable


Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent

• Typically 8 to 12 years’ experience in Data Protection, Software or PBBA (Purpose Build Backup Appliance) industry

• At least 6 years in selling BURA Solutions

• 6 years and above in Business Development and Sales roles

• A clear understanding and articulation of Data Protection and information lifecycle management

• An awareness of the BURA market landscape ie. market share and competitive analytics

• Proven collaborator and effective communicator to a wide range of audiences

• Goal driven individual with structured approach to sales and team leadership

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Knowledgeable in competitive solutions knowledge.

• Must have Storage and Backup related technical background to understand, qualify and refine proposed solutions

• Understand both backup software and hardware and able to sell as a solution

• Links HP solutions with data business centre needs to create customer business value

• Message business risk by categorization of customer data and lifecycle stages

• Establish thought leadership in technical specialty area with customers

• Demonstrate ability to work as the lead for large complex projects

• Good understanding of the HP product roadmaps for Storage and deep knowledge in area of BURA specialization

• Evangelist sales and solution selling capacity

• Leverage financial and accounting concepts as well as capital investment concepts in demonstrating business value of proposed solutions to customers

• Create solutions that creatively address customer value chain and business requirements

• Persuasively communicate the value of the solution in terms of financial return and impact on customer business goals

• Appropriately tailor communications to varying levels of customer management

• Extensive level of industry acumen; keeps current with trends and able to converse with client on issues and challenges

• Demonstrate strong communications skills with executive managers, as well as some C-level executives

• Leverage strong understanding of the competition - both positioning strategy and technology - to create competitive advantage for HP
