Radio Deployment and Quality Assurance Manager

c£50,000 to £62,000 excellent benefits

Newbury

At Vodafone, everything we do is about giving our customers an exceptional service. A service they can rely on. That’s how we’ve come to be one of the world’s biggest, most respected brands. In this role, you’ll have a vital role to play in delivering the kind of service we strive for by project managing the end-to-end delivery of radio base stations within your area. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to the success of our business in a fast-moving role – and to be recognised for your achievements.

Radio Deployment and QA Manager role

We’ll be looking to you to lead the team who are responsbile for our radio base station solutions – including upgrades – are always delivered in the most cost and time effective ways. That’s going to involve going out to lots of different sites with different demands – one minute you might be smoothing things over with a vendor, the next challenging a supplier, so you really do need to be ready for anything.

On a day-to-day basis, your role will involve completing management reports and updates for key stakeholders and project managing the acquisition, design and build of our cell sites. Specifically, we’ll need you to ensure that the other regional deployment managers have completed build packs before the build begins, to secure permissions (road closures, for example), to make sure site designs are on budget, and to manage data integrity so that each project is delivered against forecasts.

Across all of this, you’ll need to work to the highest standards of health and safety. You’ll also have responsibility for coaching and mentoring a small team of two to three people.

About you

Significant telco experience is essential – either in cell site deployment or project management in that area. Ideally, you’ll have worked across the full lifecycle, including radio planning, radio engineering and transmission. You should also have a proven ability to manage allocation acquisition partners to deliver MSV/GA/DD and full planning by volume. A good working knowledge of property, contract and lease/license negotiations is important, as are experience of site design and construction techniques, and a full understanding of CDM regulations and ICNIRP compliance requirements.

A strong project manager who can oversee things from planning to go-live, your excellent communication skills mean you’re adept at dealing with key stakeholder vendors and delivery partners alike. Meanwhile, your positive, resilient approach, sense of humour and ability to proactively identify risks and issues will be invaluable – there’s every chance you’ll come across changing priorities and unforeseen hurdles. Strong problem solving, IT and database skills are all essential too.
