The Verification Information System (VIS) program is seeking a mid-level application web developer who has diverse skills, primarily focused in the .NET technology set. The developer will be responsible for working closely with the VIS project and development team to deliver application enhancements and corrective software maintenance for a large application suite. The position involves developing, implementing and maintaining a .NET/C# large-scale web application suite with many SOA-based interfaces.



The candidate must have the ability to work in an Agile Scrum environment from requirements through development, testing, and delivery.



The ideal candidate will possess strong communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and a dedication to creating a quality product. He/she must be able to foster a positive, open work environment and work collaboratively and professionally with peers and leadership. The candidate must have a willingness to learn, explore and “dig in” to solve problems.



This is a mid-level, hands-on ASP.NET web application developer position, requiring demonstrated current experience in designing and developing object-oriented applications in C#, .NET Framework 4.x, HTML, JavaScript, CSS3, XML/XLST and web services/WCF. The candidate will join an Agile Scrum team and will be expected to be immediately productive.



Candidates with cross-functional skills experience including functional testing, Oracle SQL, Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, EJB, Frameworks like Struts, JSF, and Spring will be considered favorably.



Duties and Responsibilities



Design and develop enhancements to the Verification Information System (VIS) in C#, ASP.NET, and Oracle 11G, under set timelines and to technical specifications, using an Agile Scrum software development methodology



Perform tuning of existing code to enhance performance



Perform analysis of existing application code in order to identify and fix bugs



Participate in code and design peer reviews



In the Agile process, participate in requirements (User Story) grooming and estimating



Qualifications



Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred


• Four or more years of web, internet, or programmer/analyst related experience


• Experience working with local area and wide area networks


• Experience working with web authoring languages such as C++, Java, XML, HTML, CGI, ASP


• Experience working with multimedia applications, database interactions and data modeling tools

Other Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university (CS/CE, computer technology or related field preferred)

  2 – 5 years of demonstrated current hands-on web application design and programming experience with ASP.NET web forms and/or MVC using .NET Framework 4.x
  
  
  
  2 – 5 years of experience developing browser-based applications, with strong background in good software development life-cycle practices
  
  
  
  2 – 5 years of experience with Unit Testing and related testing frameworks
  
  
  
  Experience using, designing, and developing user controls and custom server controls
  
  
  
  Strong understanding of the C# programming language and object oriented software design techniques and patterns
  
  
  
  Perform or review systems analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation for assigned projects
  
  
  
  Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines

  Section 508 knowledge and familiarity with test tools such as AccVerify, WAT, JAWS
