Global Sourcing Manager

Cambridge, United Kingdom, GB - Pharmaceuticals

Following a period of sustained business growth, this global business are looking to recruit a talented procurement professional to play a significant role in their continued success and to develop a long-term career path. A senior role with significant levels of autonomy and profile with fast-track succession opportunities available, this role has responsibility for all Indirect purchases encompassing engineering materials and services. Key duties pertain to:



Develop & implement sustainable Purchasing Strategies across a Global category base

Develop new supplier relationships as well as improving existing suppliers' capability.

Negotiate prices, payment terms, quality, delivery and all other contractual conditions.

Undertake market analysis for the spend categories and maintain documented up to date knowledge of suppliers' capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, and latest market developments.

Develop and agree improvement objectives for the spend categories assigned

Work closely with global procurement colleagues and contribute to the development of others.

Collaborate with local site-based purchasers across Europe to achieve improved supply conditions and meet strategic objectives.

Drive the efficient organisation of Procurement for Indirects and Projects.

Work with Engineering stakeholders and outsourced service providers on Capital Projects to ensure major capital projects are delivered on time on budget.



Experience & skills required:

Relevant experience in a procurement / supply chain / commercial environment with a preference for Manufacturing/Engineering based sectors.

The ability to lead and apply strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and total cost of ownership.

Results orientated; comfortable identifying, setting & delivering against stretch targets.

Able to manage ambiguity; working within a complex, fluid, organisational environment

Ability to manage a high level of diverse projects simultaneously.

Excellent business acumen, knowledge of financial fundamentals and analytical skills.

Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

Ability to interact with key stakeholders and build trust at all levels of the organisation

Must be able to develop, manage and lead own agenda.

Chartered Institute of Supply Management (CIPS) or equivalent qualified preferred.

The ability to influence and work with stakeholders across a global stakeholder base is essential, with German language skills an advantage.

High level of managerial commitment and willingness to do extensive travelling.
