Design Engineer - PD5500 / ASME VIII

A leading Birmingham based heat transfer firm are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer with a thermal engineering background, to be responsible for the design & development of heat exchangers and air coolers, predominantly for the power generation and automotive industries.



The role itself will see the Design Engineer take responsibility for taking customer specifications and translating them into a workable, cost effective, and efficient solution; producing 2D & 3D designs using Inventor / Pro Engineer; and performing same stress analysis calculations using FEA packages.



Ideally we would like to hear from a practical, time served, hands on mechanical engineer who is looking to move into a design role and has experience in a heat transfer environment. Knowledge of the ASME VIII or PD5500 design codes would be of an advantage, as would knowledge of shell & tube heat exchangers or pressure vessels.
