Buyer sought for a marketing leading manufacturing organisation based in Newport. This is a one year fixed term opportunity to cover a maternity leave. You will be working in an experienced purchasing team and will have the opportunity to work on a number of interesting projects.



Core roles and responsibilities.



- Responsible for purchasing a range of Goods/ Services in line with Company requirements.

- Work closely with functional teams to ensure that goods ordered are fit for purpose and to the standards required.

- Ensure that all Requisitions/ Purchase Orders are processed in a timely fashion to ensure required delivery schedules are met

- Tendering and evaluating of offers prior to Order award.

- Actively engage in the creation of robust supply contracts, ensuring Legal Department approvals. Review same on an ongoing basis.

- Ensure all documentation is managed and stored as prescribed by the Company.

- Supports Accounts Department with regard to the resolution of Invoice queries and problems.

- Assist with the maintenance of the Supplier data base.

- Assisting with Expediting as and when required.



Necessary Experience



- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook) and practical experience of using ERP / MRP systems ie AS400.

- Ideally educated to degree level in a business discipline (or equivalent) or possessing two or more years' experience in a similar level procurement role.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

- CIPS Diploma would be a distinct advantage
