SAP Release Execution Support

This position covers the day-to-day running of Release management activities for all of the HP internal SAP applications and is critical to the application transformation and enhancement of these systems. Covering approximately 40 SAP systems which are critical to nearly all of HP processes.
The role will work with the Release and deployment management teams to drive continuous improvement to the process and tools.
The tools will be enhanced with the customizing and deployment of new technologies such as SAP CHARMS . There is also a need to develop standard release processes for new technologies such as HANA.
The position is pivotal in bringing together all key stakeholders. This includes supervision of an offshore team that move changes, planning future developments with Platform Leads, BASIS planners and also working closely with all Development teams to improve quality of releases.
A key requirement is to be able to provide clear and concise reporting and use that data for driving increased quality in the whole application transformation process.
Core Skills
- Expert functional knowledge of Release Management processes
- Good understanding of SAP Transport mechanism.
- Basic knowledge of SAP BASIS function.
- Knowledge/experience with SAP CHARMS and or SAP Solution Manager
- Expert functional knowledge of SOX requirements for Change Implementation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal flexibility
- Excellent organization and Customer facing service skills / Conflict Management
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent with a Minimum of 4-6 years of IT experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Experience in SAP Functionality
- Expert functional knowledge of Release Management processes
- Good understanding of SAP Transport mechanism.
- Basic knowledge of SAP BASIS function.
- Experience in SAP Functionality, SAP BASIS and the standard Transport mechanism
Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical leadership skills. Strong experience with infrastructure environments (e.g. operating system, hardware, data center, security, network, voice, end user and server / web related applications). Strong experience with business Information Technology (IT) applications (e.g. supply chain, customer relationship mgmt, HR, finance) . Strong experience in scripting and / or programming language. Strong experience with implementation, problem analysis and solutioning of infrastructure and business application environments. Foundational or expert knowledge and experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Web technologies. Exhibits a high level of initiative and integrity. Strong problem solving, priority setting, and collaboration skills. Good organizational and analytical skills. Possess creative ability, consulting skills, leadership qualities, credibility and self-confidence. Influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team. Demonstrated technical leadership skills. Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
