Financial Accountant

Slough, United Kingdom, GB - Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Primary purpose of the job:

This role reports to the financial controller and is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial information and processing treasury



Essential Job Functions:

Prepare group company VAT returns

Support annual audits including internal, external and controller group assessments

Prepare tax packs for group companies

Compile Intrastats and EC sale reconciliation and submission

Maintain the fixed asset register

Prepare and issue group recharges

Manage the Control Gap and Sarbanes Oxley testing

Support month end processes including posting journals and preparing schedules. Also prepare upload files for submission after approval from senior management in each group company.

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations

Support ACE projects

Post Cash and manage treasury transactions for interim period, leading to approval of payments

Prepare hedging and loan schedules and submit for approval



Candidate Profile

Education: Qualified accountant with accounting board or by experience



Character Traits

Intelligent with a strong analytical mind

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels throughout the organisation.

Ability to organise and schedule work effectively, handling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.



Previous Experience, Employment and Knowledge

Relevant Financial Accounting experience within a finance department

Experience gained to date would be preferably gained in a manufacturing environment (this is not essential).

Strong Excel skills would be advantageous and any exposure to MS Access and Hyperion would be beneficial.

Exposure to SAP would be beneficial



This is a maternity cover role for the period of 1 yea
