Application Support Specialist - Linwood

This position resides within a team of Application Support specialists which support a suite of Clinical applications for NHS Scotland based in our Linwood offices.
The Application Support team provides third line support to the NHS Scotland users.
This is a full time position, there is a requirement to participate in an on-call rota and also to cover service hours of 08:00 – 18:00 on a rotational basis. There is also need to travel to and work from client sites as required.
Duties Include:
- Third line support of applications via calls assigned via the Help Desk
- Development of all fault fixes
- Resolution of incidents raised by application users under Service Level Agreement targets
- Carrying out operational maintenance
- Performing Application implementations and upgrades on client sites
- Providing training to the clients on a “train the trainer” basis
Subject Matter Expert on the application to support new initiatives
Job Requirements
Essential
· Demonstrable experience of providing Application Support to end user Clients
· Demonstrable Client facing experience
· Demonstrable experience of investigation, troubleshooting, identifying solutions and resolving issues as they arise
· Ability to communicate effectively with Clients, Management and team Colleagues both orally and written
· Able to follow processes and deliver high quality solutions
· Able to work at a detailed level on simultaneous, complex tasks
· Able to travel to and work unsupervised on Client sites
Desirable
· Demonstrable development or support experience of Microsoft vb .net
· Demonstrable support experience of Microsoft SQL Server
