Apple Cork has a large finance department that executes a variety of financial tasks for a number of internal and external customers. This role is part of the EMEIA Consolidations team in Cork, which is responsible for the consolidation of over 50 financial entities in EMEIA, and reporting monthly consolidated results to WW Consolidations in the US.
In addition the team is responsible for the development and control of all EMEIA accounting processes, including the responsibility for all EMEIA Balance Sheets. The team is responsible for all Inter-company Accounting for the EMEIA entities and also for providing accounting support to the OPEX function based in London. The team is also responsible for providing technical accounting support to the EMEIA Finance teams.
This is a key role in a dynamic environment with the potential for the role to develop further with additional responsibilities in line with business requirements.

Description:
Key role in the preparation of monthly and quarterly Financial Reporting Packages for submission to WW Consolidations in accordance with strict deadlines.
Manage preparation of statutory accounts of Apple’s Irish companies.
Liaise with external Auditors on both the Irish Statutory Audit and Quarterly Group US GAAP audits.
Key role in ensuring business procedures and internal controls comply with requirements of Sarbanes Oxley legislation.
Key role in the implementation of best in class accounting processes.
Manage EMEIA Intercompany team (consists of a team of 5)
Ensuring all accounting for intercompany inventory movements is being accurately recorded in the correct entities.
Ensure all Intercompany balances eliminate at month-end.
Liaise with other members throughout finance to ensure all I/C transactions are completed.
Key role in the review of balance sheet account reconciliations of all European entities.
Oversight of month end close of 50+ entities to ensure adherence of the corporate close timetable
Ensuring that the following tasks are completed by the EMEIA Consolidations team:
GL account maintenance.
Inter-company accounting for all EMEIA entities.
OPEX Accounting
Liaise with other Accountants in the Record to Report team to ensure that Corporate policies and internal controls are applied consistently across all regions
Provide training to all lead accountants on new accounting systems and policies as required
Perform quarterly metric reporting on all EMEIA Entities to Corporate
Involvement in the quarterly EMEIA balance sheet review process
Assist in all Record to Record related projects on an ongoing basis.
Education:
Qualified Accountant
Statutory account preparation experience
3 Years + post qualification experience
