Sourcing Manager - Global Research and Development Procurement

The position is part of the Global R&D procurement team working alongside colleagues in Europe, U.S. and Asia. The successful candidate will primarily be working within the Development & Medical Affairs Services Categories but with opportunities to work across the full spectrum of R&D categories.

 

The role will see the candidate working as part of global teams in a dynamic and successful environment  collaborating with Bayer colleagues and suppliers such as Clinical Research

 

Organisations, Central Laboratories, Central analytical providers and a range of specialist organisations to deliver one of the strongest product pipelines in the industry.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Development of stable and responsive relationships with internal customers and stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements.

 

Leads project teams in the identification and selection of vendors through an effective Request for Proposal process.

 

Develop RFIs (Request for Information), RFPs (Request for Proposal) and RFQs (Request for Quotation) for utilization in the process of achieving cost reductions.

 

Serves as the focal point for incoming information related to a specific sourcing project.

 

Identify cost reduction opportunities and facilitate their implementation, including leading the negotiating efforts with suppliers on a per project basis, ultimately contributing to BHC Procurement savings and synergy targets.

 

Develop and negotiate global or regional contracts with suppliers in collaboration with legal representatives.

 

Leads contract re-negotiations according to changes in scope and execute contract amendments.

 

Manages process improvement activities within the R&D Sourcing Services area, ensuring compliance with relevant SOPs and processes.

 

Responsible for objective assessment of supplier capabilities, selection and performance of suppliers in support of outsourcing initiatives.

 

Establishes effective relationships with service vendors and supports Supplier Relationship Management activities.

 

Monitor compliance on all procurement related activities to assure that business and ethical standards are consistently maintained and that Bayer's purchasing conduct meets the highest standard of integrity.
