Plant Manager



Our client, an international oilfield products company, is looking for a Plant Manager, to manage and lead a 20 strong team of engineers, designers, QA and fabrication staff.



Reporting remotely to the Vice President, your main responsibility will be to ensure efficiency and utilisation levels of the production team while at all times keeping a keen eye on P&L, budgets and operation margins.



As leader you will be the driving force and guiding hand to all your team ensuring that all of the team work closely together and that work will be completed on time and within budget.

You will also work closely with other teams and departments to identify, recommend and implement cost-effective solutions for the fabrication line and to the general operations of the plant.





As Plant manager you will be responsible for the recruitment, training and scheduling of operations staff as well as communicating the expectations of their roles while coaching them while ensuring 95% production schedule rates and working with the team to achieve quality organisational goals.



You will also oversee the annual budget for production departments, identifying areas for improvement to meet forecasts and operational objectives, as well as reviewing and approving purchase for projects, workshop and other facilities.



To succeed at this role you will come from a manufacturing background, within Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Automation or Marine and will have strong experience in leading and managing a busy Plant / Fabrication unit.



You must possess at least a Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Production Technology and ideally you would possess experience in setting up Lean Manufacturing



Strong leadership, good interpersonal and communications skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and MRP Systems are also essential.
