Software Developer

The Role:

As a member of our dynamic and talented product development team you will be responsible for the on-going design and development of flagship products utilising the latest Microsoft technologies (.NET 4 WinFoms) and platforms. You will:



· Engage with internal stakeholders to understand the business requirements and define and agree the technical solution.

· Be responsible for the design and safe delivery of key functionality within the agreed timescales

· Provide technical design input to the team and technical leadership for the proposed component.

· Work within the Agile Development process in terms of stand-up meetings, sprint planning, delivery and testing.

· Ensure development standards are adhered to by sharing knowledge and best practice across the teams.

· Be skilled in defining priorities and managing expectations.

· Be a capable and confident communicator to both business and IT stakeholders.





To be considered for this position, you must have:

· A Software / Computer Science / IT or related degree

· In-depth knowledge of .Net framework v4+ WinForms

· At least 2 years experience of developing software in a commercial environment

· A solid understanding of OO and design patterns

· Knowledge of ORMs and SQL

· A passion for developing well designed, high quality and intuitive software

· A willingness to learn new technologies and skills

· The motivation and drive to meet team goals and objectives



While not essential, familiarity/experience with the following would also be an advantage:

· Experience of working in an Agile development environment

· Experience using DevExpress controls

· Experience of CSLA

· Experience of writing tests in a TDD or BDD approach

· Web Services (WCF and API development)

· Database design

· Asynchronous programming / multi-threading

· Experience of continuous Integration tools such as Team City

· Knowledge of Source Control tools such as Git.
