Located in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, this large Local Government organisation has a vacancy for a Development Engineer to fill the role. Due to an influx of work within the Development Engineering team, our client is offering a 3-6 month contract with an opportunity for extension.
Due to the significant number of major developments scheduled for the second half 2014, our client requires an experienced Development Engineer to assess the stormwater and drainage elements of Development Applications put before this organisation. You will be required to test water modelling and review detailed designs submitted as part of Development Applications. If required you must provide detailed explanations for application rejections and, in some cases, suggestions for design or modelling alteration based upon the NSW Planning Legislation and controls, and your expert opinion.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Degree in Civil Engineering with post graduate experience in detailed stormwater modelling and infrastructure design. Proficient in MUSIC, HEC RAS, TUFLOW. You will have a detailed knowledge of the NSW Planning Legislation and planning controls coupled with excellent communication skills to be used when liaising with developers, members of the public and other government officers.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a lucrative ongoing contract with the opportunity for extension. You will be working in a highly desirable, council with a group of highly skilled and motivated engineers. Flexible work arrangements are available if required, working a 35 hour work week.
