Hays are currently resourcing for a role within a Global Investment Bank as a Product Controller within the Global markets team on a 6 month contract.

Your main responsibilities will include:

* Ensure accuracy of financial and management reporting;
* Daily reconciliation of Global Markets P&L to the general ledger;
* Running of the GBM Balance Sheet Substantiation process, supporting the monthly accounting certification to senior management;
* Perform Balance Sheet analysis by asset class with suitable analytical review;
* Ensuring all risk transfers such as Interest rate and FX risks are transferred to and managed by Global Markets;
* Perform inter/intra group reconciliation on Balance Sheet and ensuring tax selling credit payable and receivable are correctly reflected in the BS and P&L with necessary follow-up with other group entities;
* Interact with various stakeholders like GM Front Office, Valuation Controllers and local site Finance on BFC system matters;

Qualifications
* To be successful in this position you will require:
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Finance), with CFA or MBA (Finance) highly regarded;
* CA/ CPA Qualification
* Experience in Business Financial Control or any area of Product Control, preferably within Global Markets;
* A robust understanding of the Reconciliation and Substantiation process as they apply to Global Markets products;
* A full understanding of the Accounting policies as they relate to Global Markets products;
* High level of initiative and commitment is required with ability to work to deadlines;
* Advanced knowledge of Excel
