As an IMS Database Administrator you will be responsible for the day to day monitoring and maintenance of Production and Non Production IMS DBs under strict Service Level Agreements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform physical DBMS database control functions to support current and future systems
• Create and maintain new databases
• Implement databases structural/size changes
• Perform database tuning and reorganisation functions
• Maintain/Grant User access
• Proactively supports client application teams
• Ensures database support documentation is developed and maintained
• Provide advice on complex issues in association with DBA teams
• Support Customer Satisfaction targets by providing primary support to customer or group of customers as designated
• Meet the requirements of the on call roster as assigned
• Experience Required:
• Minimum of 5+ years IMS DBA experience
• Detailed knowledge of IMS database structure
• Strong IMS diagnostics and debugging skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, customers and internal stakeholders
• Understand and ideally certified with the ITIL foundations frameworks

Desired Skills:

Knowledgeable or skilled in other Mainframe DBMS technologies – DB2 / Datacom / IMS / ObjectStar

Familiar with RACF/ACF2

Experience coding COBOL / ASSEMBLER experience

Familiar with Change Management, Problem Management and Incident Management Process
