Following a period of sustained success, this global employer of choice based on the outskirts of Cambridge are looking to recruit a number of talented Category Managers to play a significant role in their continued success and to develop a long-term career path. Senior roles with significant levels of autonomy and profile with fast-track succession opportunities available, these roles have responsibility for a broad portfolio of Indirect spend with a Global Stakeholder base. As Category Manager, key duties pertain to:

Develop & implement sustainable Purchasing Strategies across a Global category base
Develop new supplier relationships as well as improving existing suppliers' capability.
Undertake market analysis for the spend categories and maintain documented up to date knowledge of suppliers' capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, and latest market developments.
Develop and agree improvement objectives for the spend categories assigned
Work closely with global colleagues in procurement and lead cross-function project teams.
Act as an ambassador for Procurement at all times and drive expertise globally across the category base.

Experience & skills required:
Relevant procurement experience in a fast-paced best commercial environment a pre-requisite with demonstrable evidence of success across an Indirect spend essential
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and act as a figure-head for Procurement.
The ability to lead and apply best-practice category management and supplier relationship techniques.
Results orientated; comfortable identifying, setting & delivering against stretch targets.
Able to manage ambiguity; working within a complex, fluid, organisational environment.
Ability to manage a high level of diverse projects simultaneously.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
Must be able to develop, manage and lead own agenda.
The ability to influence and work with stakeholders across a global stakeholder base is essential.
