Federal Presales Solution Architect

As a Solution Architect in the Advanced Programs Group, you will work with our Federal sales force to understand customer programs, articulate HP’s high level solution benefits to customers, and influence customer technical directions using a unique combination of deep technical knowledge and broad Intelligence Community experience in a technical sales role focused on servers, storage, and networking.

Responsibilities
As a leader on the HP Presales team you will be responsible for:
- Effectively engaging at the executive level up to C-level in IC accounts. Articulate the business value of HP's technology to our business partners and customers in terms of how it addresses their mission needs.
- Applying Expert product knowledge around x86 servers, especially data center strategies including servers, networks, storage and their management.
- Leverage deep understanding of the competition - both positioning strategy and technology - to create competitive advantage for HP
- Demonstrating expert knowledge of HP's ISS technology & solutions
- Certain a positive change in how customers perceive our products and services
- Demonstrating strong communications skills with IT and LOB managers, as well as C-level executives
- Applying a deep understanding of x86 based systems to solve customer business problems
- Leading technical/product knowledge sharing with account teams and channel partners.
- Translating business direction into Presales implications, able to communicate and acquire acceptance of these implications by customers, partners and colleagues.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years technical field sales experience selling to the Intelligence Community across multiple levels within an account, preferably with an OEM
- Possess a broad and expert understanding of information technology in the IC with both depth and breadth of HP technical product knowledge.
- Possess deep technical knowledge including hands -on Networking (CCIE or CCDE a plus), LINUX (RHCE or equivalent), Windows, Hardware, Storage and Mission Critical Concepts)
- Be perceived as a recognized industry leader in the Intelligence Community
- Excellent customer and communication and presentation skills
- Strong technical sales & negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills, capturing, organizing and communicating technical strategy thoughts.
- Ability to travel 25% and occasionally up to 50%
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with full scope poly.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferably in technical field
