Senior Product Manager Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Quality Center


Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for driving HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Quality Center, gathering and prioritizing product requirements, and interacting with customers to understand their needs.


The PM will work closely with engineering, design, project management and product marketing to execute on their design plans and deliver great software. You'll define and track the key business and usage analytics data to measure success for product areas you own.


You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time understanding customer and prospect problems, and synthesizing these needs into a cohesive product plan.


The role will include business and technical presentations to customers with up to 25% travel.


Job Responsibilities


• Manage the product requirements deliverables from planning to tactical activities including gathering inputs from customers and working closely with development and functional architects


• Prioritize requirements based on overall product roadmap and internal and external business drivers


• Participate in customer-facing aspects of product launch, refresh and end-of-life (EOL) programs


• Participate in development of Sales and Marketing collateral including whitepapers and messaging documents, presentations and product demonstrations


Industry/Product Knowledge:


• Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management and the ALM market preferable.


• Understanding of enterprise software market, with IT as the target customer.


• Industry knowledge and/or experience in this market.


Product Management Experience:


• Experience with market analysis and competitive analysis and defining product requirements


• Experience working with R&D teams and an understanding of the SDLC process


• Ability to communicate at varying levels of technical detail with customers, partners, marketing, sales, support, services and R&D, in one-on-one and group situations






Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:


• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or technical field of study


• Master's (graduate) degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or technical field of study is preferred.


• 3-4 years work experience in a role that interacted with development


• Demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking.


• Must work well within a matrix organization as well as with partners and customers. (internal and external to HP)


• Must be a proven team player who can both lead a team and harness the capabilities of the team to drive for results

• Strong leadership capabilities


• Excellent organization and project management skills, with attention to detail


• Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills


• Self-motivated and team-oriented, able to multi-task and work both autonomously and effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team


• Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and establish credibility with customers, sales, R&D, and the management team
