The UK Commission for Employment and Skills are looking for a high-calibre Senior Communications Manager to join their organisation at either our Central London or South Yorkshire location.

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills is a publicly funded, industry-led organisation that offers guidance on skills and employment issues in the UK. It is led by Commissioners, who are entrepreneurs, leaders of large businesses, the third sector, trade unions, Further and Higher Education and others.

Our communications activities focus on promoting the employment and skills agenda and the work of UKCES to government, employers, learning providers and individuals. Our small multi-disciplinary corporate communications team provides advice, support, expertise and added value to staff who have some responsibility for communications in addition to their day jobs.

The role of the Senior Communications Manager is to plan, develop and evaluate high impact communications campaigns, with a focus on achieving positive coverage in broadsheet and broadcast media. In addition you will contribute towards planning, developing and implementing the organisations overarching business plan and communications strategy, drawing on specialist and technical communication skills as required.

We are looking for adaptable and proactive candidates with the ability and experience to deliver a wide range of communications activities, as well as support and deputise for the Assistant Director of Communications on wider strategy and planning.
