A vacancy has arisen within a governmental organisation for an in-house role within their Workplace and Discrimination Law Team.
This team falls within their large in-house legal group. The lawyers there manage claims under State and Federal anti-discrimination legislation in the Commissions, VCAT and Federal Court. They are responsible for managing Fair Work Commission applications (General Protections and Unfair Dismissal), OHS matters including improvement notices and Worksafe prosecutions and employment law advice in a highly regulated environment with a significant number of employees. The team is committed to improving processes and building knowledge management systems to create efficiencies for the lawyers and build the capacity of the internal client.
We are currently seeking someone at entry level senior associate or equivalentto support the Manager in providing valuable oversight of legal advice, claims and litigation to limit the employer's exposure to the risk of litigation and to ensure that legal advice and litigation activities meet the highest standards.

To be successful for this role you should be effective in promoting and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and have specialist and extensive legal expertise aligned with the team's functions.
