NPD Technologist / Technician

Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, GB - Logistics and Supply Chain

Our client based in Bedford has a new permanent job for a NPD Technologist. This role is to develop and new and original products from initial conception into final production.



Duties include:

Primary Responsibilities

* Responsible for updating and elaborating on elements in the existing product range

* Acknowledging customer feedback

* Ensure production is completed to a tight timing schedule

* Issue product samples

* Obtain in-depth knowledge of the product production and ingredients

* Able to understand basic food legislation principles

* Improving own factory knowledge

* Evaluate and report on ingredients as directed

* Participate in commissioning within allocated time frame.

* Complete projects following NPD procedures

* Organise, and attend as necessary NPD project meetings and panels

* Participate in the writing of customer specifications for review

* Write internal product specifications and documentation





Secondary Responsibilities



* Showcasing new ideas to potential customers

* Improve Food Technology knowledge

* Establish plant capability in Liaison with Production

* Appropriate and timely communication to manager and colleagues and within allocated project teams

* Organise and communicate process trials

* Demonstrated competence at following project management systems

* Liaise with suppliers to obtain any new specifications

* Updating and management of product files

* Making and management of customer samples



Skills required:

* Customer Service focus

* Proven creative approach

* Experience working with large UK retailers

* To be creative and confident

* The ability to prioritise tasks and manage working time

* Excellent communications Skills (verbal and written)

* Must be prepared to travel on occasions

* Flexible Working

* Ability to work to and achieve deadlines

* Ability to work within a team framework or on their own using their own initiative

* Full UK Driving licence with a car readily available



You will need to have experience of new product development to be suitable for this role.
